Hey, what’s up? This is Ronin from Scratching Made Easy. In this video, we’re going to keep building on the stabs and baby scratches we learned in the previous video. We’re picking up right where we left off, but this time we’re adding quarter rests to the rhythms.  If at any point you feel confused, remember to check back to previous videos.  Alright, let’s get started. The tempo is set at 90 beats per minute. Here we go!

Rhythm 1

In this next example, let’s focus on playing the rhythm as evenly as possible. We are going to play a steady and even tempo while playing on beat.  As always, continue working on getting an even and consistent sound. Remember, we don’t want to sound sloppy.  Let’s count it off! Here we go!

Rhythm 2

Hopefully, you’re not having any trouble playing a steady and even tempo, so now let’s focus on our stabs.  It can take a lot of time and effort to get your stabs to sound identical, so this time around, really listen to what you're doing. If we are going to get our stabs to sound identical, we’ve got to pay close attention to the sound we’re producing.  Alright, here we go!

Rhythm 3

When you practice, it’s important to pay attention to the sound you’re producing . There may be times that you’re playing on beat, but your stabs just don’t sound the same.  If that's the case, try slowing down the tempo and work on getting a consistent sound. Once you start getting the sound consistent , you can pick up where you left off.  Thanks for watching! I really hope this information helps you out. See you next time! Peace!
