Hey, what’s up everybody? This is Ronin from Scratching Made Easy with another tutorial for you! In the previous video, we went over stabbing quarter notes and baby scratching sixteenth-note rhythms. In this lesson, we’re going to pick up right where we left off and keep stepping things up. We’ll be exploring quarter note, quarter rest, and sixteenth-note rhythms. If at any point you feel confused, don’t worry. Just check back to the previous videos. Alright, let’s get started. The tempo is set at 85 beats per minute. Here we go!
Rhythm 1

Let’s move on to the second example and reinforce the basics. With this rhythm, let’s focus on being as accurate as possible. Play clean and even strokes while making sure not to rush the stabs or the rests. If you find yourself rushing or dragging the beat, slow down the tempo. Okay, here we go!
Rhythm 2

Like I’ve said before, developing our playing is a process, and that process takes a lot of repetition. But remember, we don’t want to mindlessly repeat the same thing over and over. Let’s dive into our final rhythm, and this time let’s focus, really focus, on playing clean and even strokes, making sure not to rush the stabs or the rests. Here we go!
Rhythm 3

Being able to identify our weaknesses and work on them is a huge part of becoming a better musician. That means we have to be effective problem solvers. We’ve got to think about the challenges we’re facing and look for solutions. I hope you got a lot out of this video! Be sure to share it with anyone who might find it helpful. See you next time! Peace!
