Hey, what's up? In this video, we are going to continue working on the drop, and we are going to move onto quarter note and eighth note rhythms. You’ll find a link to the sheet music and anything discussed in this video in the description below. If at any time you are confused, remember to check back to previous videos. Alright, let’s get started and walk through the first rhythm. We are going to start off with the baby scratch for the first measure. We are going to play one, two, three, and four and. Then we are going to drop on beat one of the second measure and pull back on beat two. Then we are going to baby scratch three and four and. The tempo is at 85 beats per minute. Here we go!

 

Rhythm 1

We are going to move on to the second example. We are going to play the same rhythm, but this time we are going to play it two times for a total of four measures. This time around, try to make sure that we pull the record back to the start of the sound. Don’t worry if it feels awkward. As long as you practice, you’ll eventually work it out over time. Alright, here we go!

 

Rhythm 2

Let’s move onto the third example. But before we start, let’s break it down so you can have an idea as to how the example is to be played. This time, we are going to drop on beats one and three of the first measure, and then in the second measure, we are going to baby scratch 8 eighth notes. We are going to play this two times for a total of four measures. OK! Here we go!

 

Rhythm 3

Time to break down the fourth example. We are going to drop on beats one and three of the first measure. Then, in the second measure, we are going to baby scratch 8 eighth notes. We are going to play this four times for a total of eight measures. Let’s also focus on trying not to rush the pullback. Alright, here we go!
